10/10/01 - Intermec Poised to take the Fast Lane in RFID and Parts Marking Technology for the Automotive Industry   Parts tracking and traceability is taking on new significance in the automotive industry as warranty issues take a front seat in the minds of consumers. These are two of the hottest new technologies in the industry, and Intermec is a major participant in both.

3/28/01 - Movie Gallery Speeds Inventory Management with RFID   Taking inventory of videos and snacks will be 75% faster for Movie Gallery video rental stores through the use of Intellitag® RFID technology. Video cassettes are tagged with Sensormatic’s Ultra•Max™ anti-theft technology and Intermec’s Intellitag® RFID technology. The resulting solution, smartEAS™, provides supply chain management and loss prevention. Inventory that takes eight hours monthly per store can be reduced to two, saving over 5,400 hours a month in labor.

3/28/01 - RFID tag tracks Georgia-Pacific’s returnable plastic containers   These returnable plastic containers (RPCs) with Intermec’s Intellitag® 915Mhz RFID tag built in are used to pack and ship fresh fruits and vegetables from distribution direct to a store’s produce department. The system eliminates manual unloading or disposing of packaging. In between uses, the RFID tag records the container’s serial number, date and temperature of the washing, and the chemical used. With tag interrogators, the grower can track loads of produce to the retailer to help speed payment, and the retailer can make sure the first produce into the system is the first to go on the shelves.

3/5/01 - RFID: Clock Is Ticking   The future of automated data collection is taking a new turn in providing increased functionality and you've got to be positioned to capitalize on these advantages. So, are you ready to capitalize on the advantages of RFID?

3/5/01 - RFID Labels Deliver   Intermec, one of the leading companies invovled in label, printer, and RFID technolgies, recently released its Intellitag series label and printer, part of a system-wide solution.

3/5/01 - Parts Marking and Tracking for Aircraft Industry Takes Wing   Government regulations require that every critical line-replaceable part be tracked and recorded. Each manufacturer, airline and supplier devised its own unique tracking system, thus it is not unusual to find as many as a half-a-dozen or more different bar code and travelers tags on many aircraft. Much of this will change in 2001 with broad industry initiatives.
