Conrado Navarro (conrado.navarro@uol.com.br) é gerente de Projetos na Intermec Technologies Corporation, em sua subsidiária nacional. A Intermec é lider no segmento de coleta automatizada de dados, fabricante de equipamentos Pocket PC robustos com inúmeras opções de comunicação como GPRS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi dentro outras. Além disso, atua diretamente com projetos de Wireless, implementações seguras de redes sem fio e projetos de telecom que envolvam tais dispositivos móveis. É consultor em RFID também na Intermec para as áreas de pré e pós venda. Realiza palestras anualmente em eventos como COMDEX, IBC e em faculdades, como IBTA, UNIFEI, FAI e FEPI.

8/11/04 - Metro Group (German)   Intermec’s Intellitag RFID technology automates pallet tracking for real-time inventory visibility at METRO Group’s Future Store

2/18/04 - Paramount Nuts   
Challenge: Expand operations to include a new processing plant while improving the productivity and efficiency of processing nearly a half billion pounds of nuts during a six week harvest season.
Solution: Implement a small, but efficient RFID system to reduce the time it takes to process the loads by 60 percent and the need to rent trailers by 30 percent.

2/18/04 - Fort McPherson   
Challenge: Enhance vehicle and personnel screening efforts on a major military base while creating an accurate, lasting record of who entered.
Solution: Using RFID-enabled windshield decals and RFID readers, control access to specific internal areas of the base without increasing the need for additional military police.

5/23/03 - NEXUS: Life in the Fast Lane   
Challenge: Moving traffic across country borders can be very time consuming.
Solution: Implement a radio frequency identification system and enroll members in the NEXUS program. Now there are over 50,000 enrollees enjoying life in the fast lane.

4/9/03 - Old Dominion Freight - Time is Money   
Challenge: Release the brakes on fleet paperwork for a team of 2600 trucks in dock and yard management.
Solution: Develop a series of wireless and automated dock and yard management procedures at 117 service centers across the U.S. that rely on mobile computers and wireless technology from Intermec. The systems, now being rolled out nationwide, are paying for themselves even faster than expected.

12/5/01 - Honeywell Goes Wireless   
Challenge: Install a wireless network in combination with handheld scanners and Web-based data collection screens to reduced labor collection issues by 99.6% the very first week installed.
Solution: Honeywell calculated that their initial investment in wireless technology from Intermec paid for itself in less than 90 days and they estimate that the additional cost savings from their new wireless network will be in the millions of dollars.
